There is a nice article on the Rocklage home and how it was in need of a renovation. The Sudbury Companies took the job, with Ed Freelander at the helm, coming up with ways to improve the Rocklage residence. The first issue that Patty and Scott wanted to address was the front entrance, as visitors to the home often could not find the front door and instead came to the back door or wandered to the barn area looking for a doorbell. Patty and Scott’s house now has a wrap-around porch and a three season porch in addition to visitors now knowing where the front door is. Landscaping was done with recycled materials from the area, and then the inside of the house was addressed. Click here to know more.
Patty and Scott did not like how their kitchen area was disconnected from the house and the two family spaces. Not only was this going to be a major job knocking down walls, but matching colors to the kitchen cupboards made out of Southern Yellow Pine, and dealing with the mess of electrical wiring going on. Looking at the before and after pictures of the house is breathtaking and the work makes use of some of the existing materials already part of the house and blended it with the new.
