Raj Fernando is the founder and current chief executive office of Scoutahead, an internet start up that is making waves with communications systems that improve corporate productivity and professional growth. This is not Fernando’s first time creating a business from the ground floor and making it into a powerhouse organization. He is more well known for founding Chopper Trading, a premier trading company based in downtown Chicago. He established the business in 2002 with 4 employees who primarily worked in fixed-income trading. Through his determination, education, and cunning business ethics, Fernando was able to grow Chopper Trading into an organization with more than 200 employee and satellite locations in California, New York, Washington D.C. and the United Kingdom.

Most of his education has come through hands on experience. While in college, Fernando began volunteering at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He was later hired on and worked his way up through diversified positions, each one offering a greater learning experience. From 1991 to 2001, he worked at the Chicago Board of Trade honing his skills to finally break out on his own in 2002.

Fernando’s natural talent in the financial market has earned him an influential voice in the financial industry. He has been a key contributor for the US Commodity Trading Futures Commission, who works at promoting transparent and competitive financial markets. He has also spoken on the influence of tumultuous trading practices, as well as addressing an audience at the Rosenblatt Global Exchange Leader Conference in 2013.
